Biography
William Brodrick, Earl of Midleton, was born on 14 December 1856. He was a Conservative and then an Irish Unionist. He had previously Secretary of State for War before moving to the India Office. Edward VII visited India during Midleton's term. He lost his parliamentary seat in the Liberal landslide victory of 1906.
