Biography
Petty-Fitzmaurice was born on 14 January 1845 in London. He was Governor-General of Canada, but left that post in 1888 to become Viceroy. He spent six years in that position. He returned to Britain in 1894, and died in Ireland on 3 June 1927. He was an advocate for a peace settlement during World War One.
