Biography
Thesiger was born on 12 August 1868. He was posted to India with the army during World War One, and became viceroy shortly after. He was responsible for implementing the Montagu-Chelmsford Reforms, which he had designed with Edwin Samuel Montagu, the Secretary of State for India. The laws were partly responsible for the Amritsar Massacre. He died on 1 April 1933.
